Robotics weekly classes | Ages 9-13
During our weekly 2-hour sessions, kids will discover robotics and its principles. They will work in teams of 2 or 3 to build and program different robots and mechanisms. The builds and challenges will become more and more complex during the course of the year.
The young engineers will start by building basic robots. They will then add different mechanisms and sensors (gyroscope, color sensor, distance sensor, Touch LED...) and code them in Scratch, a block programming language. All this will allow the robots to catch cubes, move in mazes, follow lines, sort objects... autonomously!
Some classes will be dedicated to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and to VEXcode VR, an online platform for programming a virtual robot.
In this program kids will learn the basics of engineering and scientific concepts around motion (friction, force, gears...) as well as the principles of coding. But that's not all! They will also understand the importance of teamwork and learning through trial and error, a fundamental skill for problem solving.
No previous experience in robotics is required.
The class on Saturdays at 12:30 is full.
