Robotics weekly classes | Beginners (P3-P4)
Our 2-hour weekly sessions are an exciting introduction to robotics for P3-P4 students. Kids work in teams of two to build and program robots and different mechanisms to solve a serious of fun challenges. In this program kids learn the basics of engineering, mechanics, scientific concepts around motion (friction, force, gears...) as well as the fundamentals of programming.
The young engineers will start with basic robot design, then adding various mechanisms and exploring sensors, like gyroscope, color sensor, distance sensor, Touch LED. The builds and challenges become more and more complex during the course of the year. The class culminates with The Challenge of the Year based on VEX IQ Robotics Competition, in which kids need to design, build and code a robot to score as many points as possible.
We learn the fundamentals of programming with Scratch blocks including functions, loops, algorithms, variables. Some classes are dedicated to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and coding in VEXcode VR, an online platform for programming a virtual robot.
No previous experience in robotics is required.
