During our weekly one and a half hour sessions, kids discover STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), robotics and coding with Scratch blocks. They work in teams building and coding small robotics projects and competing in fun challenges. Each class is divided into two 45 minute segments. The first segment is devoted to building structures and running "experiments" that teach kids how to build with VEX as they learn about simple machines, wheels, levers, gears, and rubber band-powered vehicles. The second segment focuses on coding where they discover the fundamentals of programming, functions, loops and algorithms.
We work in small groups (maximum 8 kids). No previous experience in robotics is required.
